This design was used to help a family create an edible space that would eventually provide both food for human and animal consumption. Located on just 3 acres underneath live and laurel oaks and longleaf pine trees, this design will eventually sustain a growing family. During the initial site survey and analysis, we realized that the southern portion of land had a plethora of dappled shade and windbreaks that would make a perfect area to create a food forest. Since their backyard extends into a state park and an abundance of pollinators, mammals, rodents, birds and other insects frequent their property. This current project has multiple phases and implementations.
