Living in an HOA community can be a drag but having neighbors who get what your doing can be a relief. Not only a liberation but an opportunity to share your passion with others. My neighbors gave me their front and side yard and told me to paint a picture. They wanted to create a space for wildlife, pollinators and to grow some fruit trees. I fast forwarded their soil and planted many pollinator trees, perennials, fruit trees, nitrogen-fixers, natives and some Florida-friendly varieties. Within the first year, their plants grew some much that multiple pruning sessions followed the growth. We have since created a shared banana circle and plan on creating more edible spaces in the back yard.
