Greg’s Edible Front Garden

Living in an HOA community can be a drag but having neighbors who get what you are doing can be a relief. It is not only a liberation but an opportunity to share your passion with others. Raleigh’s neighbors gave him their front garden and side yard and told him to paint a picture.

They wanted to create a space for wildlife, pollinators and grow some fruit trees. We fast forwarded their soil and planted many pollinator attractant plants, perennials, fruit trees, nitrogen-fixers, natives and some Florida-friendly varieties. Within the first year, their plants grew so much that multiple pruning sessions followed the growth. We have since created a shared banana circle and plan on creating more edible spaces in their back yard.
