‘Queensland’ Lettuce – Lactuca sativa

Description

‘Queensland’ is an Australian heirloom heat tolerant Romaine type Lettuce. In Central Florida 10a we are able to grow this Lettuce from October through May. It will form more dense heads during cooler winters, when it is warmer it grows more loose.

Harvest whole heads or individual leaves for a longer harvesting period. The closer plants are to bolt, the tougher and more bitter the leaves will be.

We prefer to start the seeds in trays and plant out seedlings when they are around 1″ tall, direct sowing and thinning afterwards is also an option. Full sun in a raised bed setting is ideal.

Roughly 80-100 seeds
